The recreation ministry of South Tulsa Baptist Church exists to strengthen God’s people, body, mind, and soul, and to seek and save those who are lost.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.  Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

Sports Ministries:

Men’s Basketball outreach—provided in a “pick up” game format to allow church members to invite friends for basketball and fellowship.  Games are held each Thursday evening at 7:00 in the gym.

All Star Basketball—This ministry has come about to teach children basketball skills in a Christian fellowship environment.  Competition takes a backseat to sportsmanship.  Devotions are led at half time of all games.  Registration begins in October, and games begin in January. Softball Leagues—We are looking to expand this ministry to allow more involvement, be looking for sign ups for men’s competitive, men’s recreation, and coed leagues.

Golf Tournament and Retreats—Every year in conjunction with the church wide men’s retreat we hold a golf tournament, we are also looking to schedule a Golf retreat which would allow those golf enthusiasts to go to a golf resort for a weekend of Bible Study and lots of golf.

Senior Olympics—In conjunction with semi-annual prime timer socials we will be providing low impact aerobic events for those attending the socials.

Social Ministries:

Noah’s Ark Festival—This carnival like event is held to provide families with a fun and safe alternative to trick or treating on Halloween.  Fun, Games, and prize give always are just a few features of this huge fall festival.

Family Fun Night—A carnival held in conjunction with the conclusion of our Vacation Bible School.  We have numerous carnival games and a cookout and fun for the whole family.

Annual Car Show—Held in September, this event is an outreach event to invite people, to come be a part of our fellowship.  Featuring close to 100 vintage automobiles, there will be games for the kids, cars for dad, and round table discussions for mom!  Fun for the whole family!

Sunday Night in the Park - During many of the Sunday nights during the summer, we move our evening service to a variety of outdoor venues.
